Στο πρώτο του προσωπικό άλμπουμ, Dream of the Blue Turtles, ο Sting περιέλαβε το Russians, ένα πολιτικά φορτισμένο κομμάτι εναντίον του τότε ψυχρού πολέμου μεταξύ Ρωσίας και ΗΠΑ.
Μέρος της μουσικής εμπνέεται από το θέμα της σουίτας Lieutenant Kijé του σπουδαίου Ρώσου συνθετη Sergei Prokofiev για σοβιετική ταινία του 1934. 30 χρόνια μετά, ξαναζούμε μέρες τρόμου και ψυχροπολεμικής αντιπαράθεσης.
