Βραβεία SAG: Ένωση Αμερικανών ηθοποιών, οι Ασιάτες θα έχουν τον πρώτο λόγο και στα όσκαρ
Το Everything Everywhere All At Once έχει εδραιώσει την κατάστασή του ως πρωταθλητής των Όσκαρ μετά από πολλές μεγάλες νίκες στα Βραβεία Screen Actors Guild (SAG).
Κέρδισε τα βραβεία στην τελετή, ενώ αρκετοί από τους αστέρες της αναγνωρίστηκαν μεμονωμένα.
Η Michelle Yeoh αναδείχθηκε καλύτερη ηθοποιός, ξεπερνώντας την Cate Blanchett.
«Αυτό δεν είναι μόνο για μένα, είναι για κάθε κοριτσάκι που μου μοιάζει», είπε η Yeoh στη συναισθηματική της ομιλία αποδοχής.
Ο συμπρωταγωνιστής της Ke Huy Quan έγινε ο πρώτος Ασιάτης νικητής του β' ανδρικού ρόλου, ενώ υπήρξε μια νίκη σοκ για την Jamie Lee Curtis στην κατηγορία δεύτερου γυναικείου ρόλου.
Το Everything Everywhere All At Once ακολουθεί μια ιδιοκτήτρια πλυντηρίου - την οποία υποδύεται η Yeoh - που πρέπει να αξιοποιήσει διαφορετικές εκδοχές του εαυτού της από το multiverse για να σώσει τον κόσμο.
Η νίκη της περιπέτειας επιστημονικής φαντασίας της δίνει σημαντική ώθηση ενόψει των Όσκαρ στις 12 Μαρτίου, και δείχνει ότι είναι ο ξεκάθαρος πρωτοπόρος για να κερδίσει την καλύτερη ταινία. Τα τέσσερα βραβεία SAG είναι τα περισσότερα που έχουν κερδίσει ποτέ μεμονωμένη ταινία.
Υπήρχε μόνο ένας νικητής στις κατηγορίες ηθοποιών ταινιών του SAG που δεν ήταν από το Everything Everywhere All At Once - ο Brendan Fraser αναδείχθηκε καλύτερος ηθοποιός για την ερμηνεία του στο The Whale.
