Πέθανε 91 ετών ο Neil Simon γίγαντας του Αμερικάνικου θεάτρου

Πέθανε σε ηλικία 91 ετών ο Αμερικανός θεατρικός συγγραφέας Νιλ Σάιμον.

Σύμφωνα με τον Μπιλ Εβανς, επί πολλά έτη φίλο του Σάιμον, ο διάσημος συγγραφέας απεβίωσε νωρίς το πρωί της Κυριακής σε νοσοκομείο του Μανχάταν, ύστερα από επιπλοκές που του προκέλεσε η πνευμονία.

Ο Σάιμον υπήρξε ένας εκ των πλέον επιτυχημένων και προβεβλημένων θεατρικών συγγραφέων στο δεύτερο μισό του 20ου αιώνα.

Βραβεύτηκε με τέσσερα βραβεία Tonys, με ένα Πούλιτζερ και με το βραβείο «Mark Twain».
